Snom is revolutionizing telephony for small and medium-sized enterprises!
Today’s VoIP telephony solutions consist of telephone switch software (e.g. the snom 4S Proxy) software for enhanced features such as voicemail, conferencencing, and much more (e.g. the snom 4S Media Server) plus a hardware gateway for connection to the ISDN or analog fixed-line network, often deployed on expensive PC servers.
With the snom VoIP Box IP PBX solution, however, there’s no need for expensive hardware components such as Gateways or Servers!
Snom is breaking new ground with the VoIP Box!
The snom VoIP Box is a 9x8x4cm-small complete IP PBX solution that’s easy to attach to your LAN. It doesn’t contain any moveable parts like hard disks or ventilators, so it’s durable and extremely low-maintenance. What’s more, it’s completely silent.
Towards the plug-and-play IP-PBX!
The Snom VoIP Box can be completely configured through Web-Interfaces, by you or one of our partners. The configured software sits fully on the VoIP Box’s built-in Compact Flash (CF), and you’re ready to go.
Next, just connect the snom VoIP Box to the local LAN, using an Ethernet cable, plug in the Compact Flash and switch on the power. Not even two minutes later your whole telephone system will be up and running — with all the performance features of a telecommunications private branch exchange, additionally extendable over Web interfaces.
Complete installation support is offered by snom, and by our partners!
You can find further information of the VoIP Box’s features in the data sheets and documents of the individual components snom 4S Proxy and snom 4S Media Server.
Virtual PSTN Gateway / snom IP-Gateway With the snom VoIP Box, gone are the days of fault-prone PSTN gateway components at the premise. Instead, an Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) can provide broadband IP telephony service via the VoIP Box, as well as connection to the fixed-line telephone network.
How does it work?
An employee wishes to call a fixed-line network number.
He or she dials the fixed-line number normally, preceded by area/region/country codes. (e.g. 0 030 39833 100) The snom VoIP Box recognizes that this dial pattern corresponds to a fixed-line number, and forwards the call to the VoIP provider. The VoIP provider connects the call to the fixed line-network.
And you are done!
How can I be called up over the fixed-line network?
Just like in the good old PBX days!
Your registered telephone number (either a new number received from your provider, or your old telephone number, transferred to the new VoIP provider) is called from the fixed-line network. The provider forwards the incoming call to your snom VoIP Box. Your VoIP Box recognizes the incoming number and connects to the desired colleague in your company.
What do I do with my old numbers when I switch to a VoIP telephone system / snom VoIP Box?
It is already possible today to take over the telephone numbers of your company through many VoIP providers.
How much does it cost to have several parallel trunk lines?
Further parallel trunk lines can be added at any time! Through the concept of the virtual IP gateway, every further trunk line is an additional access/account with your desired VoIP provider. You will be surprised how low the costs are for connecting to the fixed-line network through modern-day VoIP providers.
